Night of the Living Ed is an Ed, Edd n Eddy game developed by Denki for Sky digital satellite TV boxes. It was released in August 2005 for the Sky Gamestar service in the United Kingdom and Ireland.[note 1][1][3] Payment was required to access the full version of the game.
In December 2005, a Christmas-themed follow-up game was released, titled Jingle-Bell Ed.[1]
In 2023, Denki made the game freely playable online on their website.
Synopsis[]
Based on the hugely popular cartoon series, the fast-paced, action packed fun of Ed, Edd n Eddy takes place around the suburban streets and gardens of Peech Creek, home to the three musketeers of adolescence… Ed, Edd n Eddy. Players control everyone's favourite megalomaniac, Eddy, who scams his way through the neighbourhood in pursuit of the delusional, monster-inspired Halloween-costumed Ed.
Armed with an array of Edd's (AKA Double D) gadgets, Eddy blasts and splats the monstrously gooey adversaries that stand in his way. Combat is fast and furious as Eddy dodges globules of toxic goo, all the while attempting to collect his most prized possessions… Gobstoppers. And, should he feel so inclined, set free the neighbourhood kids caught up in the sticky carnage - for a price, of course.
Featuring Space Monsters and all the favourite neighbourhood kids, Eddy's success in awakening Ed from his destructive make-believe, whilst making a killing in the process, is tantamount to restoring their ever decreasing reputations in Peech Creek…
Ed, Edd n Eddy's: "Night of the Living Ed" is exclusive to the Sky Active games channel.[4]
Plot[]
Edd: "Eddy?"
Eddy: "What is it, Double D? I'm busy making my Halloween Costume!"
Edd: "I know, as am I. But, Eddy... where is Ed? We said to meet here inside Father's Garage."
Eddy: "I don't where Monobrow is! I think he's already finished getting into his costume. Now, put a sock in it Double D. I need to..."
BANG! CRASSSSH!! BAAAARRFF!!!
Edd: "Oh, my! Father's Garage!"
Ed: "MONSTER! I AM A MONSTER!!"
Edd: "Oh my, Eddy. Ed has gone on a rampage! He thinks he really is some sort of Space Monster. He's tearing up the neighbourhood!"
Eddy: "Alright, way to go! You're an animal Ed! Look Double D. He's throwing up half chewed Chunky Puffs all over the kids and sticking them fast to the spot!
HA HA HA!"
Edd: "Oh no, Eddy... I can see what you're thinking. No way! I refuse to help!"
Eddy: "Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whatever! C'mon Double D, think of it. I can follow Ed around the neighbourhood and charge all the kids for being unstuck. What a SCAM! Think of all the JAWBREAKERS!"
Edd: "True... there are Jawbreakers to think of. Sigh, ok Eddy..."[5]
The game begins with Ed putting on a monster costume for Halloween. Believing that he has become a real monster, Ed traps the neighborhood kids in a coat of sticky chewed-up Chunky Puffs. Eddy decides to try and free the children, as he is motivated by the prospect of receiving money in return. Edd aids him in his quest by creating gadgets for Eddy to use.
Gameplay[]
The game is a top-down action-adventure game. The player explores the cul-de-sac. The player must find keys to unlock various garden gates, which will allow the player to access new areas. The player also collects money and jawbreakers. The player can exchange jawbreakers with Edd for various gadgets. Taking hits from enemies will cause the player to lose health points; if all of the player's health is lost, Eddy will be defeated. The aim of the game is to free the stuck kids and to defeat Ed in the final boss battle.
In the multiplayer mode, two players compete to score the most points within the time limit of three minutes per player. The multiplayer gameplay is not simultaneous - only one player can play at a time.

Trivia[]
- The premise of the game is largely inspired by the episode "The Day the Ed Stood Still". The sprites of Ed in his monster costume appear to be loosely based on Ed's monster alter-ego from the episode.
- Some of the neighborhood kids in the game are generic characters never seen in the actual show.
- According to the game's developer, Aaron Puzey, the game was built upon a Tom and Jerry game which he also developed.[6]
